The benefits of following the Family and Medical Leave Act

Many small companies have too few employees to be legally bound by the Family and Medical Leave Act, which requires businesses to allow their workers to take up to 12 weeks off in certain circumstances. Research suggests, however, that the law has had a positive effect on workers' absenteeism, turnover and morale, and does not overly burden employers, so complying voluntarily could be a good idea.
