Calif. to set energy standards for computers, game consoles, STBs

The California Energy Commission is beginning the process of establishing energy-efficiency standards for computers, set-top boxes, video game consoles and other products. The mandatory standards will likely be voted on next year, taking effect in 2015, according to this article. The Consumer Electronics Association said it is hoping the California energy regulators will engage manufacturers in "a new collaborative process."
