DOD furloughs won't extend past September, comptroller says

The Pentagon has no plans to extend civilian workforce furloughs into fiscal year 2014 and instead will look for other ways to reduce spending, comptroller Bob Hale said Monday. Furloughs remain part of the Pentagon's plans for the $41 billion in sequestration cuts it must manage this year.
