House bill would relax some MU requirements for Medicare providers

A bill proposed by Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn., would amend the meaningful use requirements for Medicare providers. The Electronic Health Records Improvement Act would provide exemptions for small practices and doctors who are nearing retirement, and allow some providers to participate in specialty registries instead of reporting on the nine clinical quality measures required for stage 2 MU.
