Increasing number of women are family breadwinners

Women are the sole breadwinners in 23% of families with only one working spouse, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. That's a record high and a significant increase from just 6% in 1976. In dual-income families, women make more money than their husbands 28% of the time, the data show.
