Many small firms won't be able to offer health options next year

Small companies in many states will be limited to offering a single health plan for workers in 2014. The states affected are those that opted to let the federal government build health exchanges mandated by the Affordable Care Act instead of creating their own. The ACA had envisioned small employers offering a variety of health options through state health exchanges, but that plan has been delayed until 2015 due to "operational challenges," the Obama administration says.
