Media literacy program combats harmful effects of reality TV

Recent studies have shown that negative reality shows have an adverse effect on the emotional development of girls and young women, and can predispose men to violent behavior towards women. As a response, anti-domestic violence activist Sil Lai Abrams has founded the grassroots media advocacy organization Truth in Reality and launched the Responsible Reality TV Movement, of which the inaugural programmatic offering is the no-cost Truth in Reality Media Advocacy Toolkit (available for download on their website).
