New GeoPortal in Calif. offers public location data

California's new GeoPortal offers direct access to the state's geospatial data to citizens and businesses. State Technology Agency Secretary Carlos Ramos said the GeoPortal is the first of its kind in the U.S. The interactive site lets businesses research areas for new venues and residents to find schools and other location information before moving into an area.
