Partnerships can connect life insurance with health exchanges

State health insurance exchanges are limited to selling qualified health plans and stand-alone dental plans to individuals and employers, but they also may provide information about ancillary products available through separate partner programs, according to federal officials. The ancillary products, such as life, disability and long-term-care insurance, could be purchased through a separate program accessed through an exchange, according to Affordable Care Act guidelines.
