Private community blocks certain campaigning

A gated community in Pingree Grove, Ill., is under fire after a village board candidate was asked to leave Carillon at Cambridge Lakes while campaigning, according to this article. The president of the village reportedly notified only candidates that he endorses that they could campaign in the neighborhood. "That's an unfair practice and showing favoritism toward certain candidates," says board member Ray LaMarca, who is seeking re-election.
