Study links use of glucocorticoids to venous clots

Glucocorticoids were associated with an increase in risk for blood clots in the veins, according to a study reported in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine. Dutch researchers assessed data on almost 39,000 people in Denmark diagnosed with clots between January 2005 and December 2011. Current but not former use of the drugs was associated with elevated clot risk.
