GAO report details military-software projects

The Government Accountability Office reports that projects pertaining to enterprise-resource-planning software within the Department of Defense have frequently operated behind schedule and over their budgets. One example cited is the Global Combat Support System for the Marine Corps, which was initiated in 2003 with a scheduled completion in 2009. There is no "full deployment" date scheduled for the project, which was originally budgeted to cost $126 million and now has racked up $1.1 billion in spending.
