NENA joins public safety groups to honor citizen heroes

A coalition of public safety groups including NENA and the NG 9-1-1 Institute recently honored citizen heroes whose actions spotlighted the importance of 9-1-1 communications. Honorees included a 10-year-old girl who translated a dispatcher's CPR instructions to her mother when her young cousin stopped breathing. Public safety officials said Cynthia Almendarez's courage and composure saved the baby's life.
