Is U.S. car manufacturing in its "golden age?"

The reliability of U.S.-manufactured cars is on the upswing, and some experts say we have entered the "golden age of vehicle quality and reliability." Part of this comes from improved plant efficiency and an ability of reliability staff to find potential problems and prevent them. An analyst at says there are no more "clunkers" being built, and an efficiency expert says the number of cars that need repairs before they can be sent to dealerships has declined dramatically.
