$790M South Fla. airport runway-expansion project continues

Work to expand the south runway of Florida's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is 50% complete. It's part of a $790 million project to revamp the airport. "The jobs that are being created simply by the investment in infrastructure expansion here [are] really incredibly helpful," said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla. "That’s really a huge boost economically for South Florida." The project spends roughly $1 million a day.
