Beechcraft lost Air Force contract over certification doubt

According to Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., Beechcraft Corp. lost out on a $427 million contract because the Air Force wasn't sure the company would be able to get the AT-6 certified in time. Pompeo has been investigating why Beechcraft wasn't awarded the contract, and is looking for assurances the company will be able to compete for follow-up contracts. "I'm puzzled they thought that Beechcraft couldn't get through the certification process," Pompeo said.
