Cocoa powder derived from plant stem cells is commercialized

Cocovanol is a cocoa powder that is produced from plant stem cells in a bioreactor -- a first, says Diana Plant Sciences. "We have modeled the water footprint for one kilogram of high quality cocoa powder. Our technology has 50 to 100 times lower water consumption. You get a much better environmental footprint," said company President Marc Philouze.
