Gates says teacher-evaluation efforts need to be fair

The rush to adopt new methods with which to evaluate teachers could lead states and school districts to rely on unproven methods, Bill Gates writes. In this opinion article, he criticizes the reliance on standardized testing to evaluate teachers. "If we aren't careful to build a system that provides feedback and that teachers trust, this opportunity to dramatically improve the U.S. education system will be wasted," he writes.
