Many businesses do not realize that Facebook bans competitions that require users to "like" or comment on a post as a condition for entry and that most competitions must be run through Facebook applications, writes Shane O'Leary. In addition, businesses should keep posts brief and not too frequent, take advantage of Facebook's metrics to see what's getting the most attention and choose entertaining content that ties into their brand messaging.
