Mobile ad spend seen topping $7 billion this year

Mobile ad spending in the U.S. is on track to increase almost 400% since 2011, with this year's outlays likely to reach $7.29 billion, according to eMarketer. By 2017, mobile is projected to total $27.13 billion, accounting for almost 45% of all digital ad spending and 13.8% of spending in all media, the firm reports.
