Penn facility immerses students in all aspects of large-animal care

The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine's New Bolton Center is a 700-acre facility founded in 1952 that boasts a fully functioning dairy farm and swine farm, as well as the George D. Widener Hospital for Large Animals. The dairy and swine farms provide real-life work experience for veterinary students, as does the hospital, which handles thousands of cases annually, including some famous racehorses.
