Retiring female college presidents praised for strong legacies

The retiring female presidents of two historically black colleges -- Hazel R. O'Leary of Fisk University and Julianne Malveaux of Bennett College -- are winning praise for their accomplishments. "Hazel O'Leary got Fisk graduates to understand that stronger alumni support was crucial to the institution. And Julianne Malveaux, through her background with media, got Bennett College to get the kind of attention that historically Black colleges and universities need to move forward," said John S. Wilson Jr., president of Morehouse College in Atlanta.
