RFA's White: Big Oil fears threat posed by E15 to profits

Oil companies are fighting the rollout of E15 because they are losing market share to ethanol, according to Robert White, director of market development at the Renewable Fuels Association. "To put it mildly, oil companies are concerned about shrinking demand for their product," White said. Increased demand from consumers for E15 would weaken oil companies' resistance to the biofuel and lessen the country's reliance on imported oil, he said.
