SEC details how social media can be used for company announcements

U.S. public companies can distribute company information via social media as long as investors are informed of the channels to be used for such releases, according to a new Securities and Exchange Commission report. The report represents the first guidance from the SEC with respect to how social media can be used to fulfill Regulation Fair Disclosure.
