Wind project developer sees speedy public hearing as good sign

There were no comments at a public hearing on a 100-megawatt wind farm near Paxton, Ill., proposed by Stewardship Energy. The facility will use up to 49 turbines and will be developed by Stewardship with Chicago-based firm Akuo Energy. "It depends on the location and the project. I think our generous setbacks, in particular, and some of the design criteria we used, makes [our wind farm] more neighborly friendly," said Stewardship Energy President Matt Kauffman.
