Study hints at potential link between HPV and lung cancer

A study found that lung cancer patients had more types of human papillomavirus and were more likely to have eight serious HPV types compared with their cancer-free counterparts. Lead researcher Devasena Anantharaman said the preliminary results do not necessarily indicate a causal relationship but warrant more study into the role of HPV in lung cancer.
