Virginia NPs revive bid to practice without doctor's supervision

Virginia nurse practitioners are aiming to change a state law that requires them to practice under a physician's supervision. NPs began talks with the Medical Society of Virginia to reach a compromise on health care collaboration. The Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners also plans to introduce a bill during the 2012 General Assembly that would lift the restriction.
