Proposed Ga. school-scoring system includes financial component

Georgia is proposing a new system for scoring the state's schools and districts that considers "financial efficiency" among the factors to be measured, writes reporter Andrew Ujifusa in this blog post. Under the plan, "financial efficiency" would be gauged, in part, by analyzing how spending relates to student achievement and school improvement, he writes. The proposed system also would measure student performance, plus school and district "climate" as reflected in parent surveys and other data, he adds.
