APEX Wind Energy plans to set up wind turbines in Baldwin County, Ala. However, the Virginia-based company has to overcome challenges, including the acquisition of a request for a conditional use permit from the Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Commission, as well as the 180-day moratorium passed by the County Commission. "Before we determine whether a project can be built, we study migratory bird species, wetlands and numerous additional features. We visit with local landowners to learn if they are interested in hosting wind turbines on their property," said Dahvi Wilson, communications manager at APEX.
