Attitudes toward homeownership are changing, survey finds

According to a recent survey by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Americans' perspectives on renting versus owning a home have changed in the wake of the recession and housing crisis. Two-thirds of the survey respondents think the country's housing policy shouldn't promote housing over renting, but should focus equally on both. Sixty-one percent said both renters and homeowners can attain the American dream.
