Audits show insufficient data security at SEC

Two audits conducted in March by the Securities and Exchange Commission's inspector general found that the agency needs further action to improve its internal controls. The routine audits were conducted to make sure that the SEC was correctly protecting data it shared with the Financial Stability Oversight Council, and that the regulatory agency was in compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act.
