Canadian province and cities disagree on sales tax rebate

Provincial and city officials on Prince Edward Island in Canada are locked in a disagreement over compensation for sales tax. Municipalities in other provinces receive a rebate of about three-quarters of sales tax they pay, but the Prince Edward Island government is offering C$1.8 million to be shared. Officials say the amount falls short of what they would receive under the rebate system.
