India's malls woo brands with the power to boost sales

India's malls are looking to transform their anchor spaces from traditional department stores to chains including Zara, Gap, H&M, Forever 21 and Uniqlo that are proven draws and fuel higher sales per square foot, retail real estate experts say. In some cases, malls are also uprooting smaller brands in favor of bigger global draws, including Select Citywalk mall in New Delhi which replaced a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf shop with a Starbucks earlier this year.
