Maine town board's review process continues despite DCP withdrawal

Aiming to put the issue "to bed legally," the town Planning Board in Searsport, Maine, is continuing its review of DCP Midstream's propane megatank proposal despite the company's recent withdrawal of the plan. "It's pretty obvious it won't pass. But we'll go through all the performance standards, the reasons, the findings and so forth. That puts it to bed -- ties it in a nice, neat package with a bow on top," said Planning Board Chairman Bruce Probert. DCP said the continued process is "unnecessary" because "there's no application" to review anymore.
