Medical groups update guidelines on pediatric emergency care

The Emergency Nurses Association, along with the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics, released a policy statement highlighting appropriate resources needed to make sure children get effective care in all hospital emergency departments. Among the recommendations included in the guidelines, published in the Journal of Emergency Nursing, were the provision of patient- and family-centered care and periodic evaluations of ED staff.
