Medical groups update guidelines on pediatric emergency care

The AAP, along with the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Emergency Nurses Association, released a policy statement highlighting appropriate resources needed to make sure children get effective care in all hospital emergency departments. The guidelines, published in the Journal of Emergency Nursing, recommend supporting patient- and family-centered care and conducting periodic evaluations of ED staff.
