Mobile local advertising should enjoy an almost 50% compound annual growth rate through 2017, increasing from $1.2 billion in 2012 to $9.1 billion, according to a BIA/Kelsey report. Local mobile should make up 54% of a $16.8 billion mobile ad market by 2017, compared with 38% last year. The firm also predicts greater interest among large brand advertisers and premium prices for ads using location targeting.
