Study sheds light on adoption of info exchange, e-prescribing

Eighty-eight percent of U.S. hospitals, 94% of large physician practices and 72% of small practices have fully implemented or were working toward implementation of health information exchange capabilities, according to Emdeon's Healthcare Insights 2012 survey. Researchers also noted partial or full e-prescribing implementation in 61% of hospitals, 82% of large practices and 62% of small practices.
