Trey Basha aims to keep grocery chain in the family

Bashas' Supermarkets will stay independent and family owned after the death of Chairman Eddie Basha Jr., son and CEO Edward "Trey" Basha III says. The family opened the first store in 1932; today, the 124-store Arizona chain competes with national companies including Safeway, Wal-Mart Stores and Kroger-owned Fry's Food Stores.
