Virgin America offers elite status to some fliers

For a limited time, Virgin America is letting passengers who fly at least 25,000 miles a year on American Airlines or United receive Virgin America Elevate Silver status. Passengers who fly 75,000 miles or more on United, or 100,000 miles or more on American, can be matched to Virgin America's Elevate Gold status. Southwest A-List or A-List Preferred status fliers can receive Elevate Silver status, and Southwest Companion Pass holders will be given Elevate Gold Status. The deal expires June 30.
