Researchers hope policymakers will consider a scientific role for its Sustainable Development Goals for development post-2015. About 28 scientists joined 80 others, including U.N. and nongovernmental organization representatives and politicians, at a meeting in New York to discuss the role of science in policy making. In the meeting, scientists asked policymakers to consider the need for science-based priorities and a commitment to an approach to development that included the scientific community.
Will new development goals finally include scientists?
