William Demant pays $73.9M for French cochlear-implant maker

William Demant has agreed to pay $73.9 million to acquire Neurelec, a French maker of cochlear implants. The acquisition will allow William Demant to make inroads in the cochlear-implant market, which the company said has "significant, long-term growth potential" as demonstrated by the more than 10% annual growth rate seen for the sector in recent years.
