Some Seattle schools teach core subjects through language immersion

Students in a number of Seattle-area schools are spending a portion of the school day immersed in foreign languages, including learning core subjects in another language. At Beacon Hill International School, students study science and math in either Spanish or Mandarin Chinese -- learning the languages through repetition and teacher cues -- and educators say the program helps build students' confidence as well as language skills.
