Technology helps TSA cut payouts on baggage claims

Since 2004, the government has reduced by nearly 90% the money it pays out to settle claims of baggage pilfering by TSA agents. Technology is largely responsible for the drop: Automated luggage-handling systems mean few bags are ever touched by screeners, while more surveillance cameras allow officials to better monitor employees when a hand check is required.
