The best fat-loss exercise is high-intensity sprinting because it increases metabolism for 48 hours or more, compared with just a couple of hours for regular cardio workouts, writes Jason Ferruggia, owner of Renegade Gym in Watchung, N.J. He recommends hill sprints rather than flat ground, and says the workout helps people burn fat but keep muscle for a leaner look.
