Alzheimer's is one focus of $100 million U.S. brain initiative

Alzheimer's disease is one focus of the $100 million brain research program proposed by the White House. The National Institutes of Health, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the National Science Foundation would support the research, which would explore how the brain records, processes and uses information as well as how brain function and behavior are related. The program is part of President Barack Obama's fiscal 2014 budget.
