Bill would require Calif. institutions to buy in-state dairy products

California is considering a bill that would force many state institutions, including prisons, to buy agricultural products from farmers in the state. The bill has advanced in the state legislature since the Los Angeles Times reported last week that states such as South Dakota were trying to lure dairy farms from California in order to increase the supply of milk to dairy processors.
