Kroger CFO says investors don't see true grocery picture

Nonpublic chains including Publix Super Markets, H.E. Butt Grocery, Hy-Vee, Wegmans Food Markets and WinCo Foods are doing well, but investors can't own their stock, and a declining number of public grocers is giving market participants a skewed view of the industry's health, Kroger Chief Financial Officer Michael Schlotman says. "The fact of the matter is the high end is doing just fine, the low end is doing just fine, and where we operate is doing just fine," he said.
