Obama's budget to call for Medicare, Social Security cuts

President Barack Obama plans to propose an annual budget that will include reductions in Medicare and Social Security, White House officials said. The president wants to show he is ready to compromise with Republicans and make a serious effort to come up with a long-term deal to reduce the deficit. The proposal will be built around the final offer he made to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, at the end of last year.
