Patent-case verdict against Johnson & Johnson unit is overturned

A $593 million patent-infringement ruling against Cordis, part of Johnson & Johnson, has been invalidated by an appeals court. The court found that a judge had misconstrued a patent held by a doctor. The doctor had brought lawsuits against Cordis and other companies that made heart stents.
